We recently finalized our list of industry expert speakers and we’re proud to share some details about the six individuals who will be speaking at the CPA Symposium.
Henry Beck, Jr. (Halloran and Sage, LLP)
Henry Beck is an attorney specializing in domestic and international mergers and acquisitions, equity finance, commercial finance, business governance, business succession and estate planning, intellectual property, and general business and contract law. Since 2006, he has been included in The Best Lawyers in America®, the oldest and most respected peer-review publication in the legal profession, in the areas of Corporate Governance, Corporate, Mergers and Acquisitions, and Securities/Capital Markets Law. Since 2012, he has been recognized as a Notable Practitioner in Mergers & Acquisitions by Chambers USA, and he has an AV rating from Martindale-Hubbell, a peer-reviewed legal directory.
Henry is currently serving as Co-Chair of the International Law Practice Group of ALFA International. He graduated summa cum laude with a B.S. with honors distinction from Duke University and graduated cum laude from Harvard Law School.
Vincent A Liberti, Jr., LL.M. (Halloran and Sage, LLP)
Vincent Liberti is an attorney specializing in wealth acquisition, preservation and transfer using wills, trusts, and sophisticated estate planning techniques; asset protection methods; business formation and succession planning; elder law; probate administration; fiduciary representation; and real estate transactions, including IRC Section 1031 tax deferred exchanges. He is a frequent lecturer, presenting on topics including taxes, wills and testamentary trust drafting, avoiding conservatorships, estate planning, and same-sex marriage issues. He has also been interviewed on television, for print and the radio about same-sex marriage issues pertaining to estate planning, pet trusts and general estate planning matters.
Vincent is an Adjunct Professor of Law at Western New England University School of Law’s post-Juris doctor, Master of Laws (LL.M.), degree program in Estate Planning and Elder Law.
Leslie E. Grodd (Halloran and Sage, LLP)
Leslie Grodd has thirty-nine years of experience as an attorney in Connecticut, specializing in income and estate tax matters for high net-worth individuals and their businesses. Prior to his legal career, he was a member of the tax department at a nationally known accounting firm based in New York City. He is an AV rated Martindale Hubbell attorney and has been cited in The Best Lawyers in America® since 1993 in the area of Tax Law, and in Super Lawyers® in the areas of Tax, Estate Planning and Probate, and Closely Held Businesses since 2006.
Leslie has held numerous leadership positions for the American Bar Association, Connecticut Bar Association, American College of Tax Counsel, the American Institute and Connecticut Society of Certified Public Accountants, and the Jewish Home for the Elderly of Fairfield County. He also speaks at various Tax Institutes and Seminars.
Kristen McGarry, CRC® (Pacific Life Retirement Solutions Division)
As the regional vice president, Kristen McGarry works with financial professionals in the Independent Planners Channel throughout Connecticut, western Massachusetts, and Rhode Island. She has been in the financial services industry for 20 years and brings a broad background of 15 years of experience as a wholesaler. Her vision is to create retirement income solutions for clients and provide proven business-building solutions for financial professionals.
Kristen’s business-building services include client and prospecting seminars, continuing education courses, sales ideas and strategies, and business planning. She is currently a member of the Financial Planning Association (FPA). She received her B.S. in Finance from Marist College, is credentialed as a Certified Retirement Counselor, Pacific Life Certified Wholesaling Consultant, and Sequoia Certified Wholesaler.
Michael Nobile (Nobile Hinchey Private Wealth Management)
Michael Nobile is the CEO of Nobile Hinchey Private Wealth Management, an independent financial services firm serving high-net-worth families and business owners near Glastonbury, Connecticut. He brings 33 years of experience in the wealth management industry and is extremely knowledgable in retirement income and tax advantaged strategies. He specializes in working with affluent families and business owners approaching or living in retirement.
